I’m learning that the wonderful thing about being interviewed for a podcast is what comes out of the conversation. It’s very easy to present yourself a particular way on social media.

It’s quite another to tell your story in response to questions by the person interviewing you.

What I loved about being interviewed by Nicole Donnelly for her Hello Moxie podcast is that I never considered myself as having moxie, and two, her questions made me think.

I ended up telling her about my dream of being a writer, who works from home, and tells people’s stories. At the end of the interview, I gave the advice that we all should have a dream or dreams.

It might take awhile to achieve your dream, but always have one or (several) — hold them close to your heart and never, ever give up on them.

“Dreams are gifts we give ourselves.”

Telling people’s stories has been a dream and passion since my early 20s.

The photo is the card I mentioned in the interview. I received it when my son was born — almost 28 years ago. I kept it all this time; it now hangs in my bedroom as a reminder.

This year, I’m giving myself the gift of consistently writing for this blog — which I do in my off-time.

The writing takes some work and has required several adjustments to my routine — and letting some things go — so that I have the time. But it’s worth it — especially when people write to say they’re changing how they shop because of reading my posts.
